My name is Jose R. Estrella Sr and I will be searching for a Job in the near future. With this personal resume website, I intent to showcase my credentials and personality in an engaging format.
My personal resume website is designed for potential future employers for when I retire from the military. With this website I intent to promote my employment credentials by including my resume, photo gallery, biography, contact information, hobbies, and much more. Also, as useful as LinkedIn is, it creates a one-size-fits-all page appearance that I believe it is not as attractive to potential employers than a personal resume website where I can actually display my skills.
The overall purpose of this website is to find a new job in the future. I use tools like LinkedIn to make my work history accessible to potential employers. However, depending on my LinkedIn privacy settings, employers that do not have LinkedIn accounts may not be able to view my work history; and my LinkedIn profile may not be the best way of showing off my experience and skills. According to Forbes, about 60% of employers are more impressed by a strong personal resume website than any other aspect of a job candidate’s profile. Yet, only 7% of job seekers have a personal resume website. With this website I strive to put myself in that 7% and impress more than half of employers.
